We invite schools, veterans, and community groups to schedule guided tours and educational sessions, tailored by age and interest to deepen understanding of the Vietnam War. Tours are available during daylight and early evening hours while the exhibit is open, and the public may visit the exhibit 24 hours each day from 2 pm on January 13th until 2 pm on January 19th.

Group reservations are required for specific times; individuals can join scheduled tours or visit on their own.

School tours match grade levels and curriculum standards. Our guides will lead the tours—just bring your group or students to the exhibit. For curriculum details and educator resources, see https://www.vvmf.org/education/

The Mobile Education Center with The Wall that Heals

The Mobile Education Center is a 53-foot trailer that serves a dual purpose: it transports The Wall That Heals replica and transforms into an immersive educational experience for visitors. The center is carefully designed to provide essential context about the Vietnam War while highlighting the personal stories represented by the names inscribed on The Memorial.

Exhibit Features

Hometown Heroes

Digital photo displays showcase service members whose names appear on The Wall and who listed with Hawaii as their home of record. These displays foster a personal connection between the local community and those who served.

In Memory Program

This digital display honors Vietnam veterans who returned home but later died from illnesses related to their service in Vietnam. The exhibit also features a replica of the In Memory plaque that is located on the grounds of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Items Left at The Wall

Educational exhibits present a rotating selection of items that visitors have left at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Over 400,000 items have been left at the memorial over the years, each representing personal stories, tributes, and remembrances.

Chronological Overview

A map of Vietnam and a timeline of events from the Vietnam War help visitors understand the historical context and major milestones of the conflict.

Video Displays

Presentations offer visitors insights into the history and enduring impact of The Wall, enhancing their understanding of its significance.

Through these exhibits, the Mobile Education Center brings the legacy of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to communities across the country, providing an opportunity for healing and education for those unable to visit Washington, D.C.
